"I joined Trotman Repp after graduating from university with an MSc Strategic Project Management degree. I was attracted to this profession as it provides many opportunities with a clear progression in a stable industry. Additionally expatriate taxation offers a varied and dynamic career whilst specialising in one element of the tax environment. Since joining Trotman Repp I have gained invaluable experience in UK and US taxation which has enabled me to take responsibility for the tax affairs of many individual clients and a corporate engagement. Additionally, I have received continuous education, both formal courses as well as informal training which have resulted in me receiving various professional tax qualifications and becoming a member of professional bodies. I have become an Enrolled Agent (EA) (US tax qualification) and qualified Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) member (UK tax body) this summer, afetr which I will start studying towards Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) qualifications. "A lot of thought was put into how the internship was structured, which gave me an understanding of the responsibilities a job in this sector would entail. Direct communication with clients began right at the start of the internship, which meant I felt I was an integral part of the team for those eight weeks.
